Recent research projects
2004 - 2007 Cinema is a study of the Danish movie industry which have received support from SSF and runs until three years from the start of 2004. The project researches different aspects of the Danish movie industry. The project has five sub-themes. Each sub-theme has a project responsible, but the five researchers (one ph.d. student) work together and across the project. Per Darmer is Responsible for the sub-theme: Sense(making) and Sensibility.
1999 - 2004 Leadership, Organization and Competence (LOK) was a national study done incorporation between most universities and business schools in Denmark. The project was nationally financed.and ran until the end of 2004.
The project researches different aspects of leadership, organization and competence in small and medium sized Danish enterprises. The LOK project had five different themes.
Theme 1 Managing and Developing Human Resources in SMEs is where The involvement in LOK has taken place since 1999. Theme 1 has three research projects, where Per Darmer was been for the one titled: Learning Culture and Competence Development as Enmergent Practices.
During the LOK project Per Darmer has researched the Danish independent labels. The original idea was to study organizational culture formation in these small enterprises of the Danish music industry. But it turned out to be much more than that as the researcher was fascinated by these entrepreneurs of the Danish music industry and ended up studying these small enterprises from many different angles.
The Danish independent became the focus of the research, and organizational culture formation in these enterprises was reduced to only one of many researched aspects. Despite the fact that the LOK project is officially over. The researcher is still studying the Danish music industry, in general and the Danish independent labels, in particular.
Related relevant activities
Besides the two research projects mentioned above in the Danish music industry (the Danish independent labels) and the Danish movie industry. Per darmer has a general interest in the entertainment industry.
Another interest is poetry, where he has been working with poetry in and about organization and management. Per Darmer was convenor for the poetry track at the Art & Management conference in Paris 2004. A poetry group was founded at the Paris conference and has continued working together ever since. We had a poetry workshop in November 2004. The next workshop is in May 2005, and one is planned for October 2005 as well.
