Silje Alberthe Kamille Friis is working on her Industrial Ph.D. in collaboration with the strategic design agency e-Types A/S and supported by the Danish Ministry of Science.







She is a student with The Creative Alliance at Learning Lab Denmark. The title of the project is Conscious Design Practice as a Strategic Tool. The research focuses on how strategic design firms actually work ­ what are the methods and processes? This is examined through ongoing interviews, observations and processual real-time studies at strategic design agencies as well as from the perspectives of relevant theories within design theory, innovation theory, organizational psychology and organizational learning theory. A graduate from The School of Architecture in Aarhus, Denmark, Silje Kamille Friis majored in Industrial Design and has a background in the creative line of business. She has worked for LEGO A/S as a designer and project leader including 1 1/2 years at MIT¹s Media Lab in Boston before running her own consultancy business in Copenhagen from 2001 to 2003. Among her clients are Novo Nordisk A/S, Turner Corporation, Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and Montana Furniture A/S.
