Chris Poulson is Professor of Management and Human Resources at Cal Poly Pomona. In his career Chris has been a commercial banker, a university administrator, and consultant to a number of organizations in addition to full time teaching since 1983.

The work Chris began in examining the role of shame in men's lives has been expanded into a more general examination of shame as an emotion. In a recent book chapter on "Shame and Work" he explored how shame dynamics may be understood and how they may be coped with effectively, as well as describing potential shame triggers at work. He is also exploring abusive work practices and their role in triggering shame episodes.
