1967 Mangere Bridge Primary School - Teacher,
General classroom teaching in class made up of 60% non-European children. Specialisation in music throughout the school.
1968 Chisnallwood Intermediate School , Christchurch .
General classroom teaching and specialisation in music throughout the school. Formed and directed the school orchestra.
1969 - 1971 Established Leder Leather Ltd, a leather goods manufacturing company, owned and operated with 2 partners. The company produced hand crafted belts, bags, buttons, sandals and accessories which sold in craft shops throughout NZ.
1968 - 1971 Double bassist with various professional jazz . groups in Christchurch , and made many recordings for . National Radio jazz programmes.
1973 Lecturer in Music, Hamilton Teachers' College . Duties: Teaching Principles and Practices of Music Education; Instrumental and Choral Performance; History of Music; Harmony Stages 1 and 2; Evaluation of student teaching practice; Responsibility for course planning and well-being of 20 students.
1975 - 1976 Advisor in School Music , South Auckland Education Board. Duties: Working with teachers in the 500 primary and secondary schools from Huntly to Turangi, staging in-service courses in main centres, and working in schools.
1977 -1978 Lecturer in Music, Hamilton Teachers College .
1979 - 1980 Double bassist, Symphonia of Auckland .
During this period purchased and operated an Auckland Motel (6 mths)
1981 - 1986 Double bassist, Auckland Regional Orchestra.

Designed and built the Albany Lodge residential arts centre. Promoted and managed courses in many disciplines, including flat glass, clarinet and saxophone workshops and writers' retreats.
Course tutors included Holly Sanford, Margaret Mahy, Kevin Ireland, Megan Biss, Lauris Edmonds, Patricia Grace.
Purchased and administered a city lunch bar.
Music copyist for TVNZ for the many music TV shows produced for national television.

Time spent with Professor John Hopkins, Head of Studies at the Australian Academy of Music in preparation for the establishment of the Auckland Philharmonia Academy .
Attendance at conference of Pacific Rim Orchestras in Tokyo 1999, in Montreal May 2000, and Sydney 2001.
Consultant to Niche Media International Ltd to determine the interest in involvement in an Arts and Culture channel by professional arts companies in NZ.
Consultant to Arts Foundation of New Zealand to reorganise the management of the Foundation.

2002 Consultant to Niche Media International Ltd to design to-air programmes, and to liaise with NZ professional arts companies for local content inclusion.
Consultant to Arts Foundation of NZ to design the "Emeritus Awards". These awards are to recognise the life and works of New Zealand 's most senior living artists of all disciplines. The design was accepted by the Board of the Arts Foundation in February 2002.
Consequently contracted as consultant to the Arts Foundation of New Zealand to work with senior New Zealand artists to select and notify 10 Emeritus awardees for the year 2003.
Consultant to Auckland Philharmonia and the University of Auckland to design a bridge between the orchestra and The University of Auckland School of Music which will result in the formation of a new entity that will design and manage a series of joint ventures.
Appointed as a Governor of the Arts Foundation of New Zealand for a 3 year term.
