Member - Thomaz Wood Jr.

I am a full professor at FGV-EAESP, a business school in Brazil, and a partner at Matrix/CDE, a management consulting firm. From 2001 to 2004, I served a mandate as director and editor for RAE-revista de administração de empresas, an academic journal (a challenging and “dangerous” experience).

As a consultant I coordinated several projects of strategy and business transformation in large firms. I wrote / edited 12 books and over 50 academic papers in the field of organization studies. My research work can be broadly located in the realm of organizational symbolism. Currently, my research interests include the emergence of symbol intensive organizations, the study of the “spectacularization” or “aesthetization” of organizational life, critical pedagogy and the use of (good) movies in the classroom. I am also an “accidental journalist” and publish regularly at CartaCapital, a weekly magazine.
